Tillers and Pandaren Cooking Reference Guide

With a couple of months now passed since the launch of Mists of Pandaria, I’ve done a whole lot of mindless farming – literally farming not the gamer slang version. Let’s face it, there’s a whole lot of achievements associated with farming and cooking, so, being the achievement-whore that I am, I just had to put in the effort to get all of them. It’s not a short journey, that much is certain. Is it fun? Not particularly.

To master all of the Ways of cooking and to earn the best friendship of all of the friends of the farm, it takes a whole lot of resources. Harvested ingredients, hunted ingredients, and fished ingredients galore, in total it’s a collection of well over 5,000 individual items – and this isn’t including the Now I am the Master achievement. Keeping track of all the needed resources for all these achievements is quite a task, but having a fancy spreadsheet sure does help.

To keep track of all these resources and to find out exactly how many more I needed to complete most of the achievements, I built a comprehensive spreadsheet covering Friend on the Farm, Master of Pandaren Cooking, ! To Be a Master, and various additional quests that revolve around Pandaren cooking. This spreadsheet will track a complete listing of all the ingredients required to accomplish maxing out your farmer friendships, hitting 600 in all Ways of cooking, and becoming a Master cook by cooking each of the six 600-skill recipes. The spreadsheet should expand over time as I complete more quests.

This spreadsheet was inspiried by Thaildl over in the WoWhead comments.

The “Friends of the Farm” worksheet has several errors. For example, some of your SUMIF functions are incorrect, and wildfowl breast in the row for Chee Chee’s quest displays as 0. Aside from that, this is an excellent resource! Thanks for putting it out there!

All good. It ended up being quite a complex spreadsheet! Glad it’s still helping folks.

Okay, this time I quadruple checked what I found and I’m wide awake, lol. I don’t know if you care to make any corrections for others using your work, but if so: on “Friends of the Farm” cell G16 incorrectly displays 0 which screws the SUMIF function and lists only half of what is needed, which in turn jacks up your totals on the “Complete Ingredient List” sheet. Also on the “Complete Ingredient List” sheet, for Emperor Salmon the SUM pulls from cell G3 (current stock for emperor salmon) instead of H3 (total needed) which leaves you short by 120.

I’m not trying to be a pest or critical or show you up, I swear! After I used your fabulous work of art (that I don’t even want to speculate how long it took to create), my numbers were off. Again THANK YOU for making this! Extremely helpful!
